The Attorney General Dr. Ahmad Barrak held a meeting in his office today with the governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority Mr. Azzam Al-Shawwa and the director of the Financial Follow-up Unit Mr. Wael Lafi.
Both sides discussed methods of cooperation and partnership between the public prosecution and the PMA in order to promote transparency and the protection of the Palestinian society from the dangers of corruption and money laundering crimes. They also discussed the establishment of specialized economic crimes courts as proposed by the PMA.
On his part, Dr. Barrak gave a brief on the public prosecution's vision relating to promoting relations with different justice sector partners, and the importance of achieving the justice sector strategic plan which would contribute to developing and improving the services provided by this sector to the Palestinian public. He also expressed the public prosecutions willingness to provide its support towards achieving results in this regard.
